lunch with a twist

It's fun to turn an old favourite into something new. Just add a twist! Roll, wrap, or cut your food into a new shape. It's all in the presentation.
Ryan & AJ's lunches: pbj sandwich twists; apple rounds & soy cheese; dark chocolate w/almonds; dried fruit (apricots for Ryan, raisins for AJ); pickles; carrot; green olive.

I hadn't bought any soy cheese since some time during the last school year. Ryan has been asking and asking for it, so here it is. His favourite is Vegan Gourmet's Monterey Jack.

Love these ideas. Are you getting your bento supplies at a store or online? I am looking for the picks and mini sauce containers. Karen

Karen, there used to be a great online resource, but now they've gone back to only storefront sales: Ichiban Kan...so if you're ever on the west coast, check them out. Or Daiso, same deal.
There are some local stores that carry small selections. Definitely check out any local asian markets. And sometimes party stores carry some supplies.
Otherwise I'd recommend JList, Sugarcharms, or Ebay for online shopping.
